Sarah Valdez is a post-doctoral fellow at the Carlos III-Juan March Institute of Social Sciences, a position she has held since completing her Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Washington. She has been the recipient of several competitive awards including a Council for European Studies grant from Columbia University and the Foreign Language Areas Studies Fellowship from the US Department of Education. Her research focuses on immigrant segregation and the political space occupied by far right parties in Europe.
