Dr. Nike Verena Fakiner’s research interests include the History of Art and of Science in the 19th and 20th century, Material Culture Studies and the History of the Emotions. She has published several articles in journals, such as History, Medicine and Health, Méridiennes and Dynamis, and has presented the results of her work at conferences in London, Paris, Leiden, and Geneva, among others. She has also been predoctoral fellow at the Centre for the History of the Emotions at the Queen Mary University, London, the Department History and Philosophy of Science, University of Cambridge and at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science, Berlin. In addition, she has been curator of the exhibition SKIN, at the Wellcome Collection, London in 2010.
