A native of Brasil and educated in the USA and France, Iôna de Macêdo has been an active member of the International Audiovisual Industry since 1989. She has been active in TV and Film Programming, Acquisitions, Production, Marketing and Distribution having lived in seven countries and worked in ten. Between 1997 and 2007, she occupied different positions at Sony Pictures both in Latin America and Europe- the last being SVP of European Productions for Columbia Pictures. At Sony, she oversaw such commercial successes as Carandirú and Me, You, Them, Di Que Si, and Melissa P., among others. Iôna also has Production related credits in Somewhere in The City, Un Instante Preciso, about Musician, Jorge Drexler, in Andrucha Waddington’s Lope, and The Pilgrim: The Best Story of Paulo Coelho. In 2015, Iôna has returned to Academia, her first love, in the position of Academic Director of the Bachelor in Communication and Digital Media at IE University.
